Total width of any Rue Ring equals 3 of its wire diameters. The straight wire shaft which goes through the pin hole is one, plus two additional wire loops, one on each side, front and back as illustrated. Rue Ring Cotters will retro-fit most applications without design changes.

HOLE PLACEMENT - END SHAFT USE ONLY

Recommended hole size is 2 times the wire diameter of the selected Rue Ring. This leaves the Rue Ring short of interfering with effective shaft length. Recommended web thickness is a minimum of 1 wire diameter and amaximumof 2 wire diameters. A thicker web results in more holding power, but makes installation and removal more difficult.
