Pneumatic Silencers Silencieux pneumatiques Pneumatic Air Silencers reduce air valve noise in a safe manner, and at a low cost. These silencers are made of Porex, a tough, high-density polyethylene. This porous material allows expanding air to escape at noise levels below OSHA standards, reducing air blast to a whisper. Safety is afforded by resilient plastic which will not shatter.Threaded base is made of solid, high-density polyethylene. Pneumatic Air Silencers can be used on any equipment discharging air. They operate at pressures up to 150 psi and are designed to fit most air valves. Silencers are easily cleaned with industrial cleaners, and are unaffected by water and oil usually present in air lines. For discharge time and sound pressure level tests the silencers were attached to the end of a 1/2 inch diameter pipe, 6 inches long which was attached through a valve to a one cubic foot cylindrical air tank. The tank was charged to 120 P.S.I. and then by suddenly opening the valve was allowed to discharge through the silencer. Discharge time was measured using a stopwatch and was defined as the time for the tank back pressures to decrease from 100 P.S.I. to 20 P.S.I. Maximum A-weighted sound pressure levels and discharge times were recorded simultaneously for all tests. Insertion loss is the difference between the noise that is generated by the tank being exhausted through a three inch long pipe and through a silencer having the same NPT size. Test Description

EACH DRAIN PLUG IS SUPPLIED WITH A FIBRE GASKET CRANKCASE, TRANSMISSION, AND DIFFERENTIAL SELF-TAPPING OVERSIZE DRAIN AND FILLER PLUGS FOR ALL CARS AND TRUCKS USING 1/2" TO 7/8" PLUGS. PLUGS ARE LOW CARBON STEEL, CASE HARDENED, ZINC PLATED. This plug provides an efficient means of repair, and eliminates a costly labour charge when threads are stripped. No drills or taps required; simply screw plug into position with socket or end wrench. (Hold plug in a straight position while threading.) Then remove plug and clean metal chips from slots and replace.

Greater magnetic capability is accomplished by stacking several magnets on a post or inside a thin stainless steel or brass tube. This type of construction projects the chip collection area farther into the system and closer to the areas of chip generation. The tube method of construction is used primarily on applications that require frequent inspection and cleaning. The “magnetic tube” is easily wiped off. Spacers between the magnets in the tube concentrate the magnetic fields and increase the holding capacity of the unit.

Drive type fittings are designed for fast production line installation in untapped holes, to avoid thread tapping costs. The hole sizes and shank dimensions are for reference use only. Test applications should be con ducted to determine the correct hole size, which varies

depending on the type and hardness of the metal. They have a serrated shank, which facilitates the substitution of damaged fittings in old or oversize holes. Although they grip securely, they are recom mended only for low and medium pressures.
